Condo properties have really grown and evolved over the last two decades and now they are springing up like weeds all over the Greater Toronto Area. You could invest in a luxury unit by the water in Oshawa, live in a building with other seniors in a retirement community or find a modern design in the Annex Toronto. Along with all of the styles that are currently available, there are also units one the market in many different price ranges. Here are some of the prices that you will see when looking for a condo home in different areas of the GTA.

When looking at a condo usually one of the most important factors is going to be the location. This is definitely one of the things that will influence that unit's price. With Liberty Village condos or other peak condo areas you will be find that one bedrooms start at about $350,000 and can go for as high as $600,000. In Mississauga you would most likely be able to find a similar unit in the centre of the city for around the $200,000 mark. These units would be just off of the 403 or 401, providing a simple commute route into the city for work or entertainment.

One of the most desirable places for new condos is along Lake Ontario, which extends to many different areas throughout the GTA. With Toronto condominiums right downtown in the Entertainment or Waterfront District, it is possible to find a basic unit for under $300,000 but it will likely not be on the side of the building with a water view. Luxury buildings and designer lofts are plentiful in this area of the city and come with price tags over the $600,000 mark. Moving further east, Whitby Harbour has a number of condos overlooking the water for around $200,000. A penthouse unit with a spectacular panoramic view can still be found for less than what you will pay for that basic unit downtown.

Mississauga has some waterfront properties but if you're looking for a home in the west you might find a better selection in neighbouring Oakville. The prices range from under $200,000 to over $500,000 and you will find that you are getting a lot for your dollar. Real estate in East York has some of the best condos that you will find along the water, with some of them having million dollar price tags.

When you're looking for condos in the GTA you should create a radius of how far you're willing to live away from downtown and start there when comparing prices. You might be willing to look as far out as real estate listings for Markham or could be willing to pay a little extra so that you can hop the subway or a streetcar to work every day.
